New post but actually finished last year.
This one was done for an Artist Grant I received in the beginning of last year, for that I created 4 artworks based on existing art to create additions to my "Ancient Kaiju Series".
This one was informed and inspired by the work of Adolph Tidemand + Hans Gude from 1848 and of course the wonderful work of Sergey Orlyanski https://www.artstation.com/artwork/PPJ4r
I took the liberty to create something new out of this landscape that is occupied by an actual procession that looked like a marriage. Now that this piece was created in the midst of the Corona-crisis, it was my way of expressing my feeling with this very apocalyptic changes most visible on the clothes of the group on the boat. It is not as dark and grim, it should also reflect hope with whatever is going on at the far horizon like the group of people is leaving the place for good.
But it is up to you, shape your own story about this piece ;)
It was a lot of fun to put in all the details and add to the story that changed with every new thing I drew in there, could have added tons more...
