I never wanted to do any Harry Potter fanart again, because mainly of the binary view of the Author whose name should not be mentioned. Then I talked to some lovely people on the most recent convention that changed my mind. I got home with that itchy thought about how I could turn this into a statement.
I don't wanted to just jump on the "Malfoid-hypetrain" without having to say something. I appreciate that whenever people buy fanart, even Harry Potter fanart, they support the artists and not the Author, but that wasn't enough for me. I wanted to create something that goes much much deeper.
So I came up with this idea of a double homage of a female Malfoy and Saber from Fate. Saber (Artoria Pendragon) from the Fate series is a deeply resonant icon in the transgender community because her narrative serves as a powerful allegory for both transmasculine and transfeminine experiences, exploring themes of gender dysphoria, passing, and the burden of a closeted identity.
Art is a dirty work, but somebody has to do it;)
