New works in an existing Series Still (A) Life, this time with the focus on Anime.

The project is still ongoing and to complete these 3 pieces took around 6 Months overall. The palette and brushwork is inspired by flemish painters and the eternal struggle that painting still life is;) I just decided to make it a bit more fun.

The actual work per piece is around 20-30 hours+/- but a time consuming part is also research and talk with friends and visitors at conventions about these ideas before they become an actual project.

My aim is always to find a perfect balance between a working composition and to bring as much nerdy details into a piece as possible. Especially the Ghibli piece took very long since I wanted to do justice to the work of Hayao Miyazaki that has inspired me a lot.
