I always was fascinated by the landscape paintings of Martin Johnson Heade who mostly painted these meadows with haystacks and clouds. With the Ancient Kaiju series in mind I thought about what I could do with these Landscapes and found that the Enterprise would fit dramatically good in there.

I posed a 3D-Model of the NCC-1701 (I believe from GrabCad) and after finding the perfect position, I rendered it roughly in Keyshot. See one render of the model on the left

Actually there were 8 renders used and composed in Photoshop, from there I went on to paint the whole thing In Heades painterly style - which was relaxing since he uses relatively bold and opaque strokes in his works.
